The audio interface is an adapter that allows the Commodore computer to load and save data from and to any audio source. Such an audio source can be e.g. a smartphone, an MP3 player or a PC/notebook. The audio interface behaves like a datassette, except that audio data (e.g. in MP3 format) is used for file exchange. In addition, it is possible to connect an original datassette and digitize programs from the cassette as audio files – just like the way back to the cassette.

Das Audio-Interface ist ein Adapter, welcher dem Commodore Computer ermöglicht Daten von und auf jede Audio-Quelle zu laden und zu speichern. Solch eine Audio-Quelle kann z.B. ein Smartphone, ein MP3-Player oder ein PC/Notebook sein. Das Audio-Interface verhält sich dabei vergleichbar wie eine Datassette, nur dass Audio-Daten (z.B. im MP3-Format) zum Dateiaustausch genutzt werden. Zusätzlich ist es möglich eine original Datassette anzuschließen und Programme von Kassette als Audio-Datei zu digitalisieren – genauso der Weg zurück auf die Kassette.
